More evangelicals criticize Trump on abortion

John Fea   |  September 20, 2023

We’ll have our regular evangelical roundup tomorrow, but here are a few more responses to Trump’s new view on abortion. (Get up to speed here and here and here.)

Sean Feucht is trying to have it both ways:

We do not need to give an inch of ground on the Pro-Life debate.

Believers in Jesus must stand for LIFE beginning at conception. #HoldTheLine

Thank God for President Trump ending Roe V Wade.

We pray he will go even further if elected! 🙏🏽 https://t.co/cot4oIMLdr

Al Mohler disciple Denny Burk on Trump’s “troubling new position.”

The record suggests that President Trump's pro-life "conversion" was never principial but transactional.

He offered a deal to pro-lifers that led to the end of Roe, but that transaction now appears to be over.

Pro-lifers need to face this reality.https://t.co/L96dULFB6r

Kim Reynolds, governor of Iowa:

It’s never a “terrible thing” to protect innocent life. I’m proud of the fetal heartbeat bill the Iowa legislature passed and I signed in 2018 and again earlier this year.

I still don’t see any POLITICAL break with Trump over this.
