It’s the day before Trump’s inauguration. What are evangelicals saying?

John Fea   |  January 19, 2025

Jenna Ellis is celebrating with a bottle of what appears to be Trump champagne. She calls Biden “the worst president in American history” and describes as “incoming 47.”

Celebrating the LAST DAY of the worst president in American history and the incoming 47! Thanks @realDonaldTrump! šŸ„‚šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø pic.twitter.com/UOwSEreOUF

It apparently all comes down to complementarianism and “bad theology”:

I’m going to spend weekend writing. I can’t do anything about inauguration, but maybe I can help combat some of the bad theology that got us to this point. Spoiler: complementarianism isn’t about beauty or Jesus. It has always been about (white evangelical) power.

According to Lance, the devil’s agenda is getting all messed up:

There are so many believers in DC I think it’s messing up the devils agenda. https://t.co/bus31nDc7E

Prophecy alert:

I know Lance Wallnau personally… He wouldn’t post anything like this if he didn’t feel that there was real merit there… Pray Friends! PRAY! šŸ™šŸ½ pic.twitter.com/bG3x7yODSs

This has nothing to do with the Trump inauguration, but Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody is apparently a Washington football fan:

Eric Metaxas is once again peddling false information. As far as a I know, all the former presidents will be there:

Whatever the reason, how utterly DELIGHTFUL they won't be there! https://t.co/CAIm6Zx8rs

Metaxas is partying in DC:

You NEVER know whom you'll meet and talk to. Can you identify them all? For sure my favorite part of the evening was talking to President Trump and Melania. Some really exciting news. Will post a video on my Insta account later today. By the way, God bless America!!! pic.twitter.com/kA0sYfGTVC

God is giving America another chance:

"To many people, I believe President @realDonaldTrump’s re-election represents God giving America another chance — perhaps her last chance — to reverse this downward trajectory." READ: https://t.co/wAwIMlf1Mv

This Southern Baptist is glad that Merrick Garland is gone:

It’s too bad all these people didn’t pray over Biden when he became president.
