In my first election, 1976 I voted for him. I’ve probably read more about his life and presidency than any other of our chief executives. “Where have you gone Jimmy Carter? Our nation turns its lonely eyes to you….?

I echo Chris. At least Jimmy Carter is the best ex–president we have ever had. He and Roslyn did not tire of doing good–and a lot of it. Unfortunate world situations led to his being defeated by Ronald Reagan. And, to our detriment, decency, intelligence, and public service that he demonstrated is no longer valued by too many people.
