Trump is all over the place on abortion. Kamala Harris sat down for an interview with CNN. It’s Labor Day weekend, the unofficial start of the final push for November.
Let’s check-in on what American evangelicals are saying. I think this roundup offers some real insight into just how much conservative evangelical political witness right now is tied to Donald Trump’s view of abortion. Many on the Christian Right need Trump to be more pro-life (right now he is pro-choice–let the states decide) to justify their vote for him in November. Many of them will sleep better knowing that Trump might vote against a Florida referendum overturning the state’s 6-week abortion ban. You can almost feel and hear the sighs of relief emanating from their social media accounts.
Some wisdom:
Evangelicals don’t have to vote GOP:
Evangelicals for Harris shares some tweets:
Jenna Ellis used to work as Donald Trump’s election fraud lawyer. Now she thinks he is a “Republican in Name Only”:
Robert Jeffress is suddenly a realist on abortion. He says overturning Roe was the “holy grail” of the pro-life movement and Trump delivered. By the way, Jeffress is now taking the same position that Nikki Haley took during the GOP primaries.
Jack Graham, the pastor of the other big Southern Baptist megachurch in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, agrees with his buddy:
Graham is also breathing a sigh of relief that Trump “clarifie[d]” and “fortifie[d]” his position. Does Graham really think Trump cares one iota about abortion? This is all political posturing:
A theobro is also encouraged. Like Jack Graham, he may now sleep better at night.
Tony Perkins feels better as well. They are hanging on every word Trump says:
Trump is spinning Mohler too:
Owen too:
Trump got the message:
Pastor Dwight, another Texas Southern Baptists, is not taking the bait:
Here is McKissic’s entire tweet:
Amazing!!! Robert Jeffress and Jack Graham now endorsing a pro-choice policy on abortion calling it “Clear common sense wisdom.” Wow!!!!!! Staggering!!!! If the Donald Trump’s pro-choice current policy is “wisdom”, why wasn’t that spoken years ago when the argument was Christians can’t vote for a pro-choice candidate. I never thought I’d hear two household named SBC pastors endorse a pro-choice presidential candidate. Graham’s tweet & Jeffress’s interview leaves me highly perplexed relative to where the SBC stands on abortion. These two pastors have gravitated to the original’ 70s SBC posture on abortion, which was pro-choice, before the issue was turned into a political football in order to elect Ronald Reagan. It was at the advent of Reagan that the SBC took a hard line stand against abortion, that is now bowing to the pro-choice posture of DJT. Utterly amazing hearing & witnessing this.
In a very well-written and crafted tweet, Christianity Today is covering the Lila Rose’s critique of Trump on abortion:
Russell Moore and Mike Cosper are talking about the state of the race:
Christianity Today podcaster Mike Cosper is duking it out with Megan Basham and William Wolfe:
Cosper is also in the scopes of the theobros. Be careful out there Mike!:
“Respectfully”:

Ralph Reed is grateful:
Sean is a big fan of graffitti:
Eric Metaxas is a modern-day Gilbert Tennent. Although unlike Tenant, who wanted you to leave your congregation if your pastor was not born-again, Metaxas wants you to leave your congregation if your pastor is not sufficiently MAGA. Maybe Metaxas’s next book should be titled, “The Dangers of a Non-Maga Ministry.”
Remember Godwin’s Law?:
If we didn’t have the Bible, there would be no America. Politics really comes down to God vs. Satan. Metaxas talks to James Dobson:
I didn’t know Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were to blame for stuff like this. I think I need to pay closer attention to Gary Bauer’s X feed. 🙂 :
Speaking of Ralph Reed, his Faith & Freedom Coalition has stuff to say about immigration:
Tony and Mike are doing politics:
According to Huck, it is HARRIS who is the real threat to democracy:
David Brody is coming out with “BIG story”:
That was great! Thanks for putting in the work.
There is no such entity as “the christian right”, that is just a designation , people use that has
no meaning. A person is a Born Again Child of God through Jesus Christ or not. If one calls
their self a Christian, that is a made up name that began in Antioch, Acts 11:26. Voting for a Prez
is a civic action.
Vote your choice, but at least know what their -Policies while in office have been.
