This week over 1,000 Christian pastors will converge on San Diego for the Turning Point USA “Pastors Summit.” According to the event website, this event will highlight “the need for pastors and their congregations to stand for truth and no longer let culture in America dictate the terms in which the Church can exist.”
Turning Point USA CEO Charlie Kirk has assembled a star-studded cast of MAGA preachers and pundits for this event. Pastors who attend this summit will hear, among others:
Rob McCoy is the pastor of Godspeak Calvary Chapel in Thousand Oaks, California, and the co-founder of Turning Point Faith. He is a religious mentor to Kirk. In 2020, McCoy joined Kirk in denouncing evangelical pastors who participated in Black Lives Matter protests in cities across America. He once prayed publicly that Marjorie Taylor Greene, a conspiracy theorist who holds one of Georgia’s congressional seats, would one day become President of the United States. McCoy openly affirms his goal to legislate Christian morality, kept his church open during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, and compared vaccine and mask mandates to the Holocaust. In 2020 he chided evangelicals for not doing their part in preventing Joe Biden and the Democrats from stealing the presidential election.
John Amanchukwu is an assistant pastor at the Upper Room Church of God in Raleigh, North Carolina. He is a former North Carolina State University football player, a Liberty University graduate, and the author of Eraced: Uncovering the Lies of Critical Race Theory and Abortion. At a recent Faith & Freedom Coalition event he said “Blacks have become the cheap prostitutes of the Democratic Party.”
Eric Metaxas: More on him here.
Sean Feucht: More on him here.
David Barton: More on him here.
Lance Wallnau: More on him here. It is unclear as to whether Lance will be hawking prayer coins at the event.
Che Ahn: A Seven Mountain Dominionist “prophet” he believes the United States will experience a “global shaking” that will lead to the next great awakening.
Ronnie Floyd: Former CEO of the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Church. He was an early Trump court evangelical and opposed a special task force to investigate sexual abuse in the SBC.
Here’s the full list.
Train or indoctrinate? Pastors who attend this event and buy into its teaching will essentially stop being pastors in the biblical sense. They will become, instead, pawns in the far right attempt to take over the United States.
