The Christian Right “Road to Majority” conference opens with a sermon: “Blacks have become the cheap prostitutes of the Democratic Party”

John Fea   |  June 23, 2023

Ralph Reed’s Christian Right gathering this weekend began with a sermon by Black preacher John M. Amanchukwu. Amanchukwu is a former North Carolina State football player, a graduate of Liberty University, and appears on shows such as The Charlie Kirk Show, the Eric Metaxas Show, and Tucker Carlson’s former Fox News show. He is the author Eraced: Uncovering the Lies of Critical Race Theory and Abortion and is currently an assistant pastor at the Upper Room Church of God in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Watch it here:

Amanchukwu does not believe Juneteenth should be a federal holiday and compares the Emancipation Proclamation to the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Here is a taste of his sermon:

I’m here to tell you today that there is an intention attack upon the Black community and Black America needs to wise up and open our eyes and see that we are being used as expendable to those on the Left who want to use us and abuse us. Black’s have become the cheap prostitutes of the Democrat (sic) Party. They screw us and barely pay us and we keep coming back for more. I’m asking for people who look like me to open up your eyes and see what’s going on and recognize that we are being killed, we are being lied to, and they are pushing lies to Blacks.

I appreciate Amanchukwu’s zeal, but lets remember he is speaking to a room full of mostly cheering White people. I wonder if he is open to the idea that Ralph Reed is using him in the same way that he claims the Democrats are using African Americans.
