You can’t make this stuff up

John Fea   |  July 26, 2022

If you have the stomach to learn more about how the Trump evangelicals are using Christianity to undermine the American republic, you may want to follow Ron Filipkowski on Twitter. In December 2020, Filipkowski, a Republican lawyer, resigned his position on a nominating commission for Florida’s 12th circuit court. You can learn more about his resignation here. He now spends time chronicling the craziness of Trumpworld. Here are some of his latest:

First, we have Lauren Boebert. She is a member of the United States House of Representatives from Colorado:

Lauren Boebert: “The church is supposed to direct government, not the opposite way. The church is supposed to influence govt .. The Bible says that government rests on God’s shoulders.” pic.twitter.com/DbZoxej6Sk

Next we have Marjorie Taylor Greene. It should be noted that it is not only the “godless left” who thinks she is dangerous. The Christian left, as well as the Christian moderate and some of the right, also think she is hurting the country. Greene is a member of the United States House of Representatives from Georgia:

Matt Gaetz, who often tweets about attending his evangelical church in Florida. Gaetz is a member of the United States House of Representatives:

Matt Gaetz today:

Q – Is it safe to say that, based off these comments, that you’re suggesting the women at these abortion rallies are ugly and overweight?

A – Yes

Q – What do you say to people who think those comments are offensive?

A – Be offended pic.twitter.com/k40syiTnvi

Trump and Mastriano lawyer Jenna Ellis:

For me, it was the Hugo Chavez connection to the agent provocateur in Italy who used satellites to penetrate voting software that led me to conclude that extremist shit was going down. pic.twitter.com/UwtAmXKrji

Roger Stone, who recently had a born-again conversion experience (it’s not clear whether he converted to Jesus or Trumpism), appears to reveal his racism in an attempt to show that he is not a racist:

Roger Stone says he is tired of people on twitter calling him a white nationalist. He says what proves he isn’t a racist is the fact that he “has been a critic of the War of Drugs.” pic.twitter.com/PcgF4aBBgl

As we noted last week in our evangelical roundup, Mike “MyPillowGuy” Lindell is now Mike “MyCoffeeGuy” Lindell:

New product generating a fresh new set of promo codes for the hundreds of MAGA grifters feeding at the trough of the crumbling pillow empire. The second this guy is broke, all his new friends will be gone. pic.twitter.com/WdAEHUFVvg

More Lindell:

Trump rally this weekend:

Interviewer: “In politics over the last 10, 20, 30 years, if you look back no one cared, no one was paying attention.”

Mike Lindell: “I certainly didn’t. I was on crack.” pic.twitter.com/PAl8jE1Uyj

Trump guides us:

Woman holding back tears thanks Steve Bannon: “There’s not a lot of places we can go to get the truth .. He guides us, all you guys guide us, is what’s happening so we know what to do.” Fm ‘Real America’s Voice.’ pic.twitter.com/Y4KDChX0Oe

No smelling in the White House?

Once again, Ted goes full QAnon to court the crazies with one of their favorite Biden tropes: “One of the consequences of covid is that it impairs your ability to smell, so hair sniffing in the WH has gone way down.” pic.twitter.com/fnel9m5KBR

Steve Bannon on Alex Jones:

Steve Bannon today tells Alex Jones that he is one of the greatest political thinkers since the Founding Fathers: “You are one of the great thinkers of this. That’s is very rare. You have to go almost back to the revolutionary generation to see that.” pic.twitter.com/pMrwHf9hNa
