Clearing-up some confusion about the Current podcasts

John Fea   |  July 26, 2021

Current is the home of two podcasts.

I host The Way of Improvement Leads Home Podcast. I have hosted it for for five years. It predates Current. This podcast is interview-driven. Our guests are historians. It is also FREE! You can listen to it at most podcatchers, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Podbean, and Stitcher. Recent guests have included historians Kate Carte, Eric Miller, Karen Cox, Beth Allison Barr, Bruce Berglund, Carolyn Eastman, Aaron Griffith, Claire Potter, John Wilsey, Abram Van Engen, Elisabeth Lasch-Quinn, Paul Harvey, Peter Manseau, Lorri Glover, and Kristin Kobes Du Mez. The Way of Improvement Leads Home Podcast usually drops every two weeks.

Our other podcast is “A History of Evangelicals and Politics.” It is a weekly podcast that is narrative focused. Right now we are focusing on evangelicals and politics in what I am calling “The Age of Obama” (roughly 2004-2016). Think of this podcast as a 20-30 minute history lecture. (No interviews and much shorter). The “A History of Evangelicals and Politics” podcast is offered to Longshore ($10.00 a month) patrons of Current. (That’s about $2.50 an episode and you also get all our paywalled articles and posts! What a deal!). You can learn how to get access to it here. (You can listen to a few sample episodes here).
