The Orange Blossom Special was a passenger train that ran from Penn Station in New York City to Miami, Florida between 1925 and 1953.

Here’s Johnny Cash:

Palm Beach Atlantic University historian and Current contributing editor Elizabeth Stice evokes the name of this historic train with her new book review site, Orange Blossom Ordinary. She writes: “Orange Blossom Ordinary is a review with one foot in Florida and one foot in the life of the mind. We are a forum for learning about new books and considering their ideas, hearing from authors, and accessing the world outside of ourselves.”

Some of you may recall Nadya Williams’s interview with Elizabeth Stice a few days before the launch date of Orange Blossom Ordinary. Read it here.

I saw Elizabeth this weekend in Grove City at our Current editors’ confab and told her that I hope to spend more time at Orange Blossom Ordinary now that my work at Current is winding down. I hope you’ll check it out. Start with Elizabeth’s interview with Wright Thompson, author of The Barn: The Secret History of a Murder in Mississippi.
