A night with National Book Award finalist Eliza Griswold

  |  October 11, 2024

On Thursday night I got the chance to chat with writer Eliza Griswold about her new book Circle of Hope: A Reckoning with Love, Power, and Justice in an American Church. A few days before this event, which was held as part of the Harrisburg Book Festival at the Midtown Scholar Bookstore, Eliza learned that the book is a National Book Award finalist in Nonfiction.

The room was filled with folks who knew A LOT about Circle of Hope Church, the Brethren in Christ, and the major figures in the book. This was a unique audience for Eliza and she did well responding to questions and empathizing with folks during the event and the book signing.
