More evangelical responses to the Harris-Walz ticket

  |  August 7, 2024

Building off of last night’s roundup, here are more evangelical reactions to the Harris-Walz ticket.

David French can’t catch a break! 🙂

Imagine being convinced that voting for the most radically progressive ticket this country has ever seen is a way to [checks notes] save conservatism. pic.twitter.com/eMcmJe6gyt

— Colin J. Smothers (@colinsmo) August 7, 2024

A New Jersey Baptist responds to a Southern Baptist. Don’t mess with a pastor from Morristown, New Jersey:

Imagine being convinced that voting for the most criminally convicted adjudicated rapist ticket this country has ever seen is a way to [checks notes] be more Christian! https://t.co/jWy6qE4DVc

— Lance Mann (@lancemann) August 7, 2024

Josh Hawley is affirming Don Rickles jokes:

I had the same thought https://t.co/T3AGuFMlaj

— Josh Hawley (@HawleyMO) August 7, 2024

Hawley thinks Walz is an “angry old man”:

So I hear Kamala had chosen SHAPIRO last week – but the lefty Dems had a meltdown. So she caved and went with Gov. Angry Old Man instead. Great decision making skills there, Kamala

— Josh Hawley (@HawleyMO) August 7, 2024

In our last roundup, Andrew T. Walker of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary called Walz an “unhinged moral degenerate.” Today Sean Feucht is calling him “sick and perverted.” You got to “love” what passes for “Christian” political witness on the right:

Says the guy who mandated that tampons must be put in little boys bathrooms.

You are a sick and perverted person. https://t.co/xpU6sykXfP

— Sean Feucht (@seanfeucht) August 7, 2024

Apparently Sean Feucht moonlights as a historian:

Also, I’m coming to Minnesota this weekend (Duluth on Saturday) for a worship festival and I have extra motivation to see God turn that state around!

— Sean Feucht (@seanfeucht) August 7, 2024

Southern Baptist fundamentalist Tom Buck is baiting his Black evangelicals:

What do you think, @ThabitiAnyabwil?

— Tom Buck (Five Point Buck) (@TomBuck) August 7, 2024

Somebody ask Dwight McKissic if his conscience still allows him to vote for this.

— Tom Buck (Five Point Buck) (@TomBuck) August 7, 2024

Justin Taylor is concerned about Harris’s “pro-abortion extremism”:

Some quotes from @RyanTAnd's excellent article in @firstthingsmag on Kamala Harris's pro-abortion extremism:

"Since becoming the presumptive Democratic nominee for the presidency, Harris has sown confusion about her political vision by reversing many of her own publicly stated… pic.twitter.com/jESSOj0HPT

— Justin Taylor (@between2worlds) August 7, 2024

In other words, if you vote for this ticket you are probably not a Christian:

It should not be interpreted as a political or partisan statement to state that political progressivism is built on a rival and counterfeit theology hostile to orthodox Christianity.

— Andrew T. Walker (@andrewtwalk) August 7, 2024

I’ve actually heard from several “social conservatives on the ground” today in Minnesota who told me Walz was a “good governor.” I guess they are not connected with the Minnesota Family Council:

A word from social conservatives on the ground in Minnesota about Governor Walz’s extememe social policy. We've never had a more far Left ticket than Harris-Walz. https://t.co/ZziW0Pw240

— Andrew T. Walker (@andrewtwalk) August 7, 2024

Tony Perkins is concerned that the “pro-life voters base” is not motivated:

When Harris-Walz & the Democrats make abortion a top election issue, and the Republican response is crickets, the pro-life voter base will not be motivated.

Why did the GOP Platform Committee, led by Sen. Marsha Blackburn, turn away from core party principles of life & marriage? pic.twitter.com/arBs6bac00

— Tony Perkins (@tperkins) August 7, 2024

Mike Huckabee defends hate speech:

Actually Mr. Walz, the 1st amendment is ALL about protecting speech that may be wrong, offensive, or even hateful. Read 1A again. The "GOVERNMENT shall make no law…" Limits to 1A? Of course, if threatening or libelous, but you are a scary guy if you are that ignorant of 1A. https://t.co/EOFEMz82X9

— Gov. Mike Huckabee (@GovMikeHuckabee) August 7, 2024

Albert Mohler Jr. takes his shots here.

Jack Graham, the pastor of the one of the country’s largest megachurches, is getting his talking points from Elon Musk:

Marxist ideology is taking over the democrat party….this would be the death of America https://t.co/nMafRKreaU

— Jack Graham (@jackngraham) August 7, 2024

Paula White-Cain retweeted this:

This is Tim Walz, Kamala’s choice for VP. His abortion stance is so extreme even Nancy Pelosi told him to chill. Here is a video of him displaying his unhinged bloodlust.

No Christian can vote for this. pic.twitter.com/vR4ynYLMHd

— 🌷 LIZZIE🌷REFORMED (@farmingandJesus) August 6, 2024

Gary Bauer on Israel:

This is revealing. More evidence that the Democrat Party is abandoning Israel.https://t.co/BiM5iCeGcy

— Gary L Bauer (@GaryLBauer) August 7, 2024

Former Trump court evangelical PR guy Johnnie Moore:

I mean they vetted him, right?https://t.co/av3mg4XtUv

— Rev. Johnnie Moore Ù† (@JohnnieM) August 7, 2024

David Brody of the Christian Broadcasting Network is nervous:

Trump Supporters may not want to hear this but Kamala Harris and Tim Walz were VERY good tonight in Philadelphia. She came across as measured, confident and fully in control. It was an optimistic speech full of hope and change (cue 2008). Meanwhile, Walz showed off his folksy and…

The Faith & Freedom Coalition twitter feed, usually pretty quiet, has come to life:

Kamala Harris donated to a progressive group that pushed to make Washington, D.C. a sanctuary city.

Tim Walz has done everything but declare Minnesota a sanctuary state, providing illegal immigrants free health care and college tuition.

Harris-Walz is no law-and-order ticket. pic.twitter.com/sK4MBmGzr5
