Robert Kennedy Jr. announced today that he will not run for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination, but will rather run for president in the general election (November 2024) as an independent.

Joseph P. Kennedy II: Former member of the House of Representatives and the son of Robert and Ethel Kennedy. He is Joseph Kennedy Jr.’s brother.

Kathleen Kennedy Townsend: Former lieutenant governor of Maryland. Oldest child of Robert and Ethel Kennedy. She is Joseph Kennedy Jr.’s sister.
