John Fea   |  August 10, 2023

What is happening in Evangelical land?

Russell Moore talks to National Public Radio. He says that Jesus’s claims in the Sermon on the Mount are not “liberal talking points.”

“Most conservative evangelicals gave up on the politics of character in 2016.” Who said that? 😉

A Christian nurse kidnapped in Haiti is released.

Evangelical pastors and their congregants share similar political views.

RFK’s evangelical appeal?

2000 baptized at an Evangelical Covenant congregation.

Ukraine’s evangelical pastors

David Schroeder returns as president of Pillar College in New Jersey.

Beth and Russell:

An evangelical organization sues Quebec.

It was only a matter of time before Vivek Ramaswamy’s Hinduism became an issue for evangelicals.

Evangelical environmentalists oppose shale drilling in Pennsylvania. The drillers are not happy.

Dorothy Sayers and the evangelical mind.

Another Southern Baptist Church leaves the convention over the female pastor ban.

A revival of expository preaching?

Blast from the past:

An anti-woke evangelical theologian says that Christians who watch “The Chosen” are violating the second commandment.

Jenna Ellis and Eric Metaxas talk about John MacArthur’s new movie and a bunch of other stuff:

Liberty University’s Standing for Freedom Center responds to Ohio Issue 1.

Unlike most states, ballot measures to amend Ohio’s constitution only require 50% plus one vote to be passed.

However, if a majority of Ohio voters vote “Yes” on State Issue 1, the threshold to amend the constitution will be increased to a 60% vote. (2/5)

“Every individual has a right to make and carry out one's own reproductive decisions including, but not limited to, decisions on contraception, fertility treatment, continuing one's own pregnancy, miscarriage care, and abortion.” (4/5)

— Standing for Freedom Center (@freedomcenterlu) August 8, 2023

Critics of the proposed amendment argue that the phrase “every individual” opens the door for minors to receive abortions without parental consent. Additionally, they warn the use of the phrase “reproductive decisions” could be interpreted to mean transgender treatments. (5/5)

Texting with Jesus.

Mike “My Pillow Guy” Lindell to the rescue:

Christian nationalist Lance Wallnau claims the Democrats will target 17 specific counties to "steal" the 2024 election and so Mike Lindell will use AI technology to immediately expose "fraudulent votes" in those areas. Gee, what could possibly go wrong with this brilliant plan? pic.twitter.com/BeGWMXp5i9

Lance, who “prophesied” a Trump win 2016, is “feeling that same anointing”:

Exactly what I said.

I’m feelin that same anointing I felt in 2016. Things are gonna shake.https://t.co/9SxNVoi1mf

Billy Graham’s daughter and granddaughter on the end times.

More on Franklin Graham and the U.S. Women’s Soccer team.

Was James Dobson right about moral decline in America?

More on the Texas pastor running for president.

Jack Hibbs on UFO’s. They are demonic manifestations triggering the end times:

Hibbs is also on Facebook arguing America is a “constitutional republic,” not a ‘democracy. Notice how how Hibbs never defines the difference between a “republic” and a “democracy” but insists that the “will of the people” can only be protected in a republic. The whole thing is absurd and illogical. The “will of the people” is the essence of a democracy. Actually, these school district parents ARE exercising democracy and Hibbs should be thankful for a democratic society that allows such an event. Read:

Are you an American or a concerned citizen? Do you have children in the government school system? Have you voted in an election to appoint people to office to represent your interests as a citizen? Several weeks ago, parents and concerned citizens let their voices be heard about protecting their children’s rights and their parental rights to know what’s going on at their local level at a Chino Valley Unified School District board meeting. The reason why parents showed up was because they’re the ones that actually have produced the children that attend the school system, as well as being the sole financial underwriters who pay 100% of these official’s salaries. This is actually supposed to be a representative government known as a constitutional republic. The United States is not a democracy, nor is California – but a republic, something democrats hate to hear and will never utter. Democracy is their mantra. That said, Gavin Newsom sent one of his henchmen from Sacramento to the Chino Valley Unified School District to circumnavigate the will of the people, but his tactic failed. Secretary Thurman left the building being defeated by the will and voice of the people in what was a shock to him – to discover that the Constitutional Republic was actually thriving in California still. So now we have a Newsom upping his thuggery to the next level but why? Because Newsom knows nothing about the Constitution nor about the will of the people. He doesn’t know anything about faithfulness to the people of the state of California, nor privately and his personal fidelity. So stay tuned for what you can do next as a concerned citizen and one who loves your city and your children, and your Constitutional Republic.

Tony Perkins on Ohio Issue 1:

The defeat of Issue 1 in Ohio is disappointing, but the battle for life and the family is far from over.

▶️ Ohioans who want to stop the assault on parental rights, protect minors, and halt the Left's extreme abortion agenda must turn their focus to the vote in November. Let's…

Restore America and freedom to what?:

I am praying to God and appealing to caring people to help restore America and freedom. It will not be easy, but together and with God’s help, it can be done. This is the greatest hour for people of faith to become a guiding light.
