Other observations:
- 89% of GOP primary voters believe the United States is “on the wrong track.”
- 82% of GOP primary voters “strongly disapprove” of how Joe Biden is handling his job as president.
- 43% of GOP primary voters have a “very favorable” opinion of Trump. 33% have a “somewhat favorable” opinion of Trump. 22% have a “somewhat unfavorable” or “very unfavorable” opinion of Trump.
- 66% of GOP primary voters have a favorable opinion of Ron DeSantis
- 44% of GOP primary voters have a favorable opinion of Mike Pence.
- 53% of GOP primary voters have a favorable opinion of Robert Kennedy Jr.
- If the 2024 presidential election were held today, 84% of GOP voters would vote for Trump over Biden.
- 70% of GOP primary voters believe the economy is “poor.” 25% believe it is “only fair”
- 34% of GOP primary voters are considering supporting Trump in the primaries. 55% of them ARE NOT considering Trump.
- GOP primary voters believe Ron DeSantis is more “moral” than Donald Trump (45% to 37%).
- GOP primary voters believe Ron DeSantis is more “likeable” than Trump (45% to 43%).
- GOP primary voters believe, by a 58% to 28% margin, that Trump has a better chance of beating Biden in November 2024.
- GOP primary voters believe, by a 54% to 16% margin, that Trump is more “fun” than DeSantis.
- 71% of GOP primary voters believe that Donald Trump has “not committed serious federal crimes.”
- 22% of GOP primary voters believe abortion should be “always illegal.” 33% believe abortion should be “mostly illegal.” 37% believe abortion should be either “always legal” or “mostly legal.”
- 60% of GOP primary voters support state laws that ban abortion after six weeks of pregnancy. 36% oppose such laws.
- 58% of GOP primary voters support a federal law banning abortions after fifteen weeks of pregnancy. 36% oppose such a ban.
- 50% of GOP primary voters support gay marriage. 41% oppose it.
- 44% of GOP primary voters support additional economic and military aid to Ukraine. 52% oppose additional aid.
- 39% of GOP primary voters support a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants currently living in the United States. 57% oppose.
- 75% of GOP primary voters believe that Trump was “just exercising his right to contest the election” after the November 2020 election. Only 19% believe that he “threatened American democracy.”
- 59% of GOP primary voters want to keep Social Security and Medicaire benefits “as they are.”
- GOP primary voters prefer a presidential candidate who focuses on the southern border (65%) over a candidate who focuses on “woke ideology” (24%)
- GOP primary voters prefer a presidential candidate who believes government should “stay out of deciding what corporations can support (52%) over a candidate who “promises to fight corporations that promote “woke” left ideology (38%).
- GOP primary voters prefer a presidential candidate who “promises to protect individual freedom” (51%) over a president who “promises to protect traditional values” (40%)
- GOP primary voters prefer a presidential candidate who is “more conservative than most Republicans” (58%) over a candidate who is more “moderate than most Republicans” (39%).
- GOP primary voters prefer a presidential candidate who agrees with them on most issues (59%) over a candidate who has the best chance to beat Joe Biden (38%).
- 69% of GOP primary voters believe that when elected officials make decisions they should prioritize the “common sense of ordinary people” (69%) over the “knowledge of trained experts” (25%).
- 70% of GOP primary voters believe we should “pay less attention to problems overseas and concentrate on problems here at home.”
- 58% of GOP primary voters believe “society should NOT acceept transgender people as the gender they identify with.” 30% believe the opposite.
- 62% of GOP primary voters believe that America’s “problems are so bad” that the country is “in danger of failing as a nation.”
- 7% of GOP primary voters are Hispanic (Mexican, Dominican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, etc.)
- 84% of GOP primary voters consider themselves to be white.
- 75% of GOP primary voters are over the age of 45. 6% are between the ages of 18-29.
- 54% of GOP primary voters make between $50,000 and $200,00 a year. 10% make over $200,000. 15% make between 25,000 and 50,000.
- 47% of GOP primary voters are Protestants. 19% are Catholic.
- 40% of GOP primary voters identified as either “evangelical” or “born-again Christian.”
