College president delivers a graduate speech crafted by ChatGPT

John Fea   |  June 29, 2023

After delivering a ChatGTP graduation speech, Wells College (Aurora, NY) president Jonathan Gilbralter said: “Before I end this address, I have a confession to make. I want to let you know that everything I just said was written by artificial intelligence. I asked ChatGTP to write a commencement address from the president of Wells College to the graduates. Now why the heck did I do that? And why am I telling you this?”

He then offers what I assume is a non-ChatGTP reflection on artificial intelligence and the world in which the graduates of Wells College will enter.
