What is happening in Evangelical land?
Russell Moore on a potential Trump indictment in the Donald Trump-Stormy Daniels hush money case in New York:
If I were on a jury in this case, I would have a moral obligation to put aside the reality that (as I’ve said repeatedly for the last seven years) I don’t believe Donald Trump is fit for office. Instead, I would have to look at whether the hush money was actually paid and concealed; whether that is, in fact, a crime; whether the intent was to commit a crime; and every other consideration that goes into an impartial judging of the case.

Christian writer and teacher Karen Swallow Prior is leaving Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. She responds to theobro trolling:
Trump’s indictment won’t matter to most conservative evangelicals. Many will still vote for him 2024.
Defending Oprah:
Is Donald Trump “on the wrong side of the Religious Right?” Some good reporting in Tim Alberta’s piece, but I think he places too much emphasis on Trump’s comments on pro-lifers in the wake of the 2022 midterms.

Franklin Graham finds common ground with atheist Richard Dawkins. Here is Graham on his FB page:
I usually don’t take sides with an atheist—but on this issue, I agree 100%. Richard Dawkins said the push by LGBTQ activists to discredit the reality of two biological sexes is “utter nonsense.” They’re even trying to “de-gender” our language. Richard told Piers Morgan Uncensored, “there are two sexes, and that’s all there is to it.” They also talked about how our woke culture is bullying people who are bold enough to stand with the scientific fact of two sexes. Of course, science reflects what the Bible clearly says, “God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them” (Genesis 1:27). Period. That’s it. I appreciate him taking a stand for this truth, and I hope you will join me in praying that like the Apostle Paul on the road to Damascus, Richard Dawkins’ eyes will be opened to the truth of the Gospel and God’s love for him.
Carl Trueman criticizes Wellesley College’s decision to allow women who identify as men and nonbinary students.
William Wolfe speaks for the Liberty University Standing for Freedom Center. Whatever one thinks bout transgenderism, for the sake of these roundups it’s good to know that Wolfe is a mouthpiece for the conservative evangelical university in Lynchburg.
It looks like Liberty University’s Standing for Freedom Center has a constitutional scholar on its staff:
I wonder how many Liberty University students listen to Phil Vischer’s Holy Post podcast. I am guessing A LOT:
This is the kind of binary thinking and anti-intellectualism that comes out of Liberty University’s Standing for Freedom Center:
