Messiah University is looking for someone to teach an intro course on the Civil War and Reconstruction in Fall ’23

John Fea   |  February 16, 2023 Leave a Comment

Ernest Boyer Hall, Messiah University

If you are interested, let me know. It will be a night class (6:15-9:15) that will meet once a week. We are looking for someone:

  1. With some teaching experience
  2. With graduate training (M.A., but ABD or Ph.D preferred) in 19th-century America
  3. Who is a practicing Christian (Mainline Protestant, Evangelical, Catholic, Eastern Orthodox)

The course is geared toward non-history majors, but it is likely that a handful of history majors will also be enrolled. It covers the period between 1848 and 1877 and is capped at about 40 students.

It is a face-to-face course taught on the campus of Messiah University in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Money for travel is negotiable and will be based on the university’s travel policy.

Feel free to share.
