Rick Santorum lands at Newsmax

John Fea   |  November 3, 2021

CNN fired him after he gave a lecture to the Young America’s Foundation and said, “We birthed a nation from nothing. I mean, there was nothing here. I mean, yes, we have Native Americans but candidly there isn’t much Native American culture in American culture.” These remarks do not seem to have been a problem for the pro-Trump Newsmax cable network. They just hired him.

Here is Lindsey Ellefson at Yahoo News:

Former GOP Sen. Rick Santorum joined Newsmax as a senior political analyst on Tuesday, five months after being ousted from CNN. He will make his debut during the conservative network’s election coverage Tuesday night at 7 p.m. ET.

“I am excited to join the growing team at Newsmax,” Santorum said in a statement. “In just a short time, Newsmax has exponentially grown its viewership, establishing itself as a leading, unfiltered news source for hard working Americans who are looking for reporting and commentary that speaks to their traditional American values.”

He added, “I am looking forward to bringing my common-sense, blue-collar conservative voice to Newsmax and their viewers as we turn toward the critical 2022 midterm elections and beyond.”

“Rick Santorum is one of the most articulate and candid political analysts in media today, and we are honored to have him leading Newsmax’s team of commentators Tuesday and beyond,” said company CEO Chris Ruddy.
