What is going on in Evangelicalland?
Paige Patterson believes a “lynch mob” is after him.
Russell Moore get a new gig as “Minister in Residence” at a non-Southern Baptist Church that is part of the Acts 29 network. Adelle banks has the story at RNS.
At least one Baptist is not happy about Moore’s new position at a church that endorses the baptism of infants:

A multiracial evangelical family navigates a White evangelical world.
Evangelical conspiracy theorist Eric Metaxas continues to call Joe Biden a “fake president” who was “not elected.” Metaxas thinks Trump will be reinstated as president based on his conversations with Mike “MyPillow Guy” Lindell and “constitutional scholar” Jenna Ellis. He says “when you’re told to shut-up, don’t shut-up.”
YouTube just booted Metaxas’s show. He tells his listeners not to get the vaccine and says he will now talk “all the time” about how Biden stole the election. He also saved a turtle and tried to save a sunfish in Ocean City, New Jersey.

And after Garlow set this 65-year-old man straight about Donald Trump, the man got down on his knees and accepted Jesus as savior. Here is Garlow on FB:
Tonight in a restaurant, the approx 65 year old man was talking quite loud at the next table. It was obvious he was trying to impress the seemingly younger woman with him. He proceeded to say – loudly – that Trump and Netanyahu were terrible and did not care about the homeless and children – and all conservatives didn’t either. He prattled on like this what seemed like forever. I bit my tongue.
Finally we finished our meal. He had reached the “stupid quota” with me. As we were ready to leave, I walked over to him and said, “I could not help but overhear your conversation.” (Duh!) “I just wanted to share with you that I have been with President Trump 7 times and Prime Minister Netanyahu 3 times, and I have found them to be extremely compassionate individuals.” (The loud talking man now had a “deer in the headlight” look.).
I continued – with a smile on my face, and in with a tone of respect and courtesy, “And did you know that President Trump established nearly 9,000 âOpportunity Zonesâ in inner cities, and brought private (not public money – as the man had also complained about government spending) into the blighted urban areas, and was able to raise the socio-economic levels in so many areas. And, on top of that, this part of the Federal government was run by a San Diegan” (who had moved to TX, then DC). I continued, “Now the last thing we want is a political argument in a restaurant, so it’s okay if you disagree with me.” (At this point, the younger woman was half-way smiling, and dropped her head), “but I thought you might want to know the truth.” He appeared to be speechless. At that exact moment, their food arrived. “Hey, your food is here (me smiling). Have a great meal.” And I was gone. (But I kept calm and talked with a respectful smile on my face.) If this was a date, and he was trying to impress the younger woman, I sure would have liked to have heard the “rest of the story.” But anyway, people are so…interesting!
