We have done several posts over the years about the goings-on at Cedarville University, a conservative Christian school in Ohio. You can read some of those posts here. Many of these posts link to pieces University of Dayton historian Bill Trollinger wrote about Cedarville at his blog Righting America.
Today Righting America introduced me to The Cedarville Interpreter, a website published by Cedarville students who are fed up with the leadership of university president Thomas White and the fundamentalist culture he has created at the school. The anonymous organizers of the blog describe themselves as “the voice” of the Cedarville student body:
Cedarville has ignored its student body for too long. Our mission at the Interpreter is to shed light on the issues students of Cedarville University grapple with and to provide information and resources for students who struggle or dare to disagree with Cedarville’s rules or all-encompassing way of life. Articles are published anonymously by students in order to protect their identities and prevent potentiall dismissal from the University. We hope you enjoy our content: These are news pieces and opinions you can’t find anywhere else.
