The other night I was back at the Midtown Scholar as a customer. It was my daughter Caroline’s eighteenth birthday and after a nice dinner at Millworks she wanted to spend an hour or so at the Midtown. Here is some of what we found:
When I’m on the East Coast (about once a year), I always try to hit Midtown Scholar.
That and the 2nd & Charles in Allentown and that little hole-in-the-wall place in Dillsburg (Rt 15 between the Sheetz and the Rodeway Inn) with all the Thirties pulp reprints.
Nothing like spending a whole day in used-bookstore crawls.
Headless: I am curious about 2nd & Charles. I will need to check it out. I have never been to the place in the strip mall in Dillsburg. I have driven by it hundreds of times but never stopped. I think it’s time for a visit.
