The abortion rate has declined by more than 25% between 2006 and 2015. This is certainly good news for the pro-life community.
According to Sara Kliff’s piece at VOX, the decline in abortions can be explained by several things:
- Laws restricting abortion in certain parts of the country.
- Millennials oppose abortion at a slightly higher rate than older generations.
- Better access to and more effective forms of contraception.
- More women seeking birth control out of fear that they will lose it if Trump gets rid of Obamacare. (This implies that if Obamacare is repealed there will be more abortions).
