The band will be given the Award for Musical Excellence, a special award for sidmen, at the April 10 ceremony at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Other honorees will include Nirvana, Kiss, Hall & Oates, Peter Gabriel, Cat Stevens and Linda Ronstadt. Managers who worked with the Beatles (the late Brian Epstein) and the Rolling Stones (Andrew Loog Oldham) will both receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award, which goes to non-performers.
Tickets will be sold to the general public for the Barclays show, beginning at some point next month.
