One of the great traditions at Messiah College is “Accolades in the Athenaeum.” Whenever a Messiah professor publishes a new book, the college community comes together for cake, coffee, and a formal presentation of the book to the college library. Today my book Why Study History? was honored. Before the festivities began I was chatting with a colleague about how nice it is that we remain committed to these kinds of communal events. I am not sure many colleges and universities have these types of celebrations.
