Bill Robinson: New CCCU Interim President |
Edward O. Blews Jr. is out. William Robinson will serve as interim president.
Sarah Pulliam Bailey reports at Religion News Service:
An umbrella group of Christian colleges has removed its president Edward Blews today.
“After careful investigation and prayerful consideration, the Board of Directors of the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities has unanimously decided to transition Dr. Edward O. Blews, Jr., from the position of president effective October 22, 2013,” a press release states.
The press release does not go into details regarding why Blews was removed as president. William Robinson, president emeritus of Whitworth University, will serve as interim president.
“The Board recognizes that this presidential transition has caused disruption in the programs and to the people of the CCCU, and we are truly sorry for this disruption,” the statement says.
Blews was appointed president in July 2012. The CCCU is an international association of Christian colleges and universities with 119 members and 55 affiliate institutions in 20 countries based in Washington, D.C.
