I missed this when it first came out. Richard Brodhead is the president of Duke and one of the authors of the “Heart of the Matter,” the recent report on the humanities conducted by the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Here is his appearance on The Colbert Report.
By the way, there is also a film version of the “Heart of the Matter.” It features John Lithgow, George Lucas, Yo-Yo-Ma, Ken Burns, David Brooks, Sandra Day-O’Connor, and Kwame Anthony Appiah.
