Boyer Hall: Home of the Messiah College History Department |
Perhaps I am biased, but I think Messiah College is a wonderful place to study history. We offer our students a rigorous curriculum taught by first-rate professors dedicated to working in a small Christian liberal arts college. Our seven-member department is committed to teaching, and they are also some of the leading scholars in their fields. We are committed to the career development of our students. We stress both content and historical thinking skills and our faculty reflect on the study of the past from the perspective of our shared Christian faith. We offer concentrations in American, European, and Non-Western history and we are one of the few institutions in the country to offer an undergraduate concentration in public history.
If this sounds good, I encourage you (as a parent or prospective student) to learn more about our program by making a campus visit or initiating an e-mail exchange with me at jfea(at)messiah(dot)edu As department chair, I would love to tell you more about what we have to offer.
I also hope you might consider applying for a spot in our brand new Humanities Scholars Program. You can read all about it here.
