End of the Academic Year Membership Drive

John Fea   |  May 13, 2011 Leave a Comment

It is graduation weekend at Messiah College.  I can’t think of a better time for another “Membership Drive” here at The Way of Improvement Leads Home. This is the time when we blatantly self-promote what we are doing here at the blog.  There are many ways to connect with The Way of Improvement Leads Home. If you have benefited from the blog, feel free to think about some of these options to show your support.

  • Become a follower of the blog through Google. You can do that by clicking the “Follow” button in the right column of this blog. As you can see, we have 60 followers and counting!
  •  While the blog does not get a lot of comments, sometimes the discussion is more rigorous at Facebook.  Friend me at Facebook (“John Fea”) and participate in the conversation and get additional updates that do not appear on the blog.
  • Have you read The Way of Improvement Leads Home? Would you like to someday? Join the Philip Vickers Fithian Fan Club on Facebook.
  • Interested in the Greenwich Tea Burning Project? Join the project’s Facebook group.  We are gearing up for another summer in South Jersey.
  • Are you a former history major doing something exciting with your degree? Have you transferred the skills you have used as a history major to a non-history related job? If so, we want to hear from you! Consider contributing something to our “So What CAN You Do With a History Major Series.” Please contact me if you fit the bill!
  • We are all about places here at The Way of Improvement Leads Home. Take a picture of your favorite local place–it could be anywhere. And we will post it on the blog as part of our “Places” feature.
  • We are always looking for correspondents to report on major historical conferences such as the AHA, the OAH, the Omohundro Institute, SHEAR, and others. If interested, please get in touch.
  • Consider a speaking engagement at your college, organization, historical site, church, public library, etc…  We are currently on the road for Was America Founded as a Christian Nation: A Historical Introduction and have several open slots available for the summer and fall of 2011 and into 2012.  We are also available for lectures and talks on The Way of Improvement Leads Home, Confessing History, and our current projects on Presbyterians and the American Revolution, the Greenwich Tea Burning, and “The Power to Transform: A Christian Reflection on the Study of the Past.”

Thanks for reading! I look forward to blogging my way through the Summer!
