Scot McKnight has posted the 2010-2011 college football bowl schedule. In addition to the sheer number of games, I have a few more observations:
What is the Beef O’Brady St. Petersburg Bowl?
Is anyone going to watch Ohio and Troy play in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl on December 18?
Why is a bowl game that features Miami-Ohio and Middle Tennessee State (The GoDaddy.com Bowl) being played on January 6, AFTER the Rose Bowl, the Orange Bowl, and the Sugar Bowl? The same might be said for the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl, which is played the day before the BCS Championship Game.
Are there two Tostito Bowls this year? The Tostito’s Fiesta Bowl pits Oklahoma and Connecticut on January 1. The Tostitos BCS National Championship Game pits Auburn vs. Oregon on January 10. Both games are in Glendale, AZ.
January 10 is way too late for a college bowl game. This impedes on college basketball season.
Isn’t December 30 too cold to have a bowl game (The New Era Pinstripe Bowl) in the Bronx?
Why doesn’t BYU play in the Holiday Bowl any more?
What happened to the Peach Bowl, the Bluebonnet Bowl, and the Tangerine Bowl?
OK–I have been officially informed that the Peach Bowl is now the Chick-Fil-A Bowl. Sorry the confusion.
