Messiah 4 Wisconsin-Oshkosh 1

John Fea   |  December 3, 2010 Leave a Comment

I was never a soccer fan until I came to Messiah College.  Both our men’s and women’s soccer teams are playing this weekend at the NCAA Division III Final Four in San Antonio.  Needless to say, the campus has been overrun with soccer fever.

A few hours ago the Messiah College men’s team advanced to the championship game with a 4-1 win over Wisconsin-Oshkosh.  Oshkosh went into the game undefeated and, from what I have been told, had only allowed 4 goals all season.  Unfortunately for them, that number just doubled.

The Messiah men’s team will play either Bowdoin or Lynchburg in the championship game.  At the time of writing, that game is tied 1-1 late in the second half.

The Messiah women’s team, which has not lost a game since 2007, will play tonight at 8:30EST.  Stay tuned.
