Check out the video for “Save My Love,” one of the songs from “The Promise.” (Sorry, Bruce won’t let me embed it). It includes some great Springsteen nostalgia. Here is the accompanying article from the New York Times:
Given the opportunity, who wouldn’t want to turn back the clock to the late 1970s and jam with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band? Apparently not even Mr. Springsteen himself can resist the temptation: in Thom Zimny’s new video for the song “Save My Love,” from Mr. Springsteen’s coming album “The Promise,” the Boss gets to revisit the glory days of 1977 as he and his bandmates were gearing up to record “Darkness on the Edge of Town.” That’s appropriate enough, since “Save My Love” was originally written and produced for the “Darkness” sessions collected on “The Promise,” though the version you’ll hear in the video is a new one that Mr. Springsteen recorded this year.
Got all that? “The Promise” will be released as a two-CD set and a deluxe three-CD/three-DVD collection on Nov. 16; in the meantime, here’s a glimpse at an era when rock ‘n’ roll seemed simpler and Max Weinberg had a beard.
