Are you interested in the development of the historical profession in America?

The American Historical Association has archived all of its presidential addresses from 1884 to the present. You will find addresses by Henry Adams (1901), Alfred Mahan (1902), Frederick Jackson Turner (1910), Theodore Roosevelt (1912); Carl Becker (1931), Charles Beard (1933), Arthur Schlessinger (1942), Samuel Morison (1950); C. Vann Woodward (1969), John Hope Franklin (1979), Bernard Bailyn (1981), Natalie Zemon Davis (1987), Joyce Appleby (1997), Eric Foner (2000), Lynn Hunt (2002), James McPherson (2003), Jonathan Spence (2004), and the address from the most recent president, Laurel Thatcher Ulrich.

Students: This is a great resource for a historiography paper.
