Tonight I tried to start a Facebook page for this blog. I failed miserably.
Actually, I was able to start the Facebook group without any problem. It was getting this blog to automatically post to the group that did me in. If there is anyone who can help me figure out how to do this I would be forever in your debt. Warning: I am a Luddite and have no clue how to write HTML. (Is that even how you say it?)
For those of you who joined the “Way of Improvement Leads Home” Facebook page in the few minutes it was in existence, I thank you. Maybe one day we will actually get it to function.
ADDENDUM: To make matters worse, I inadvertently removed MYSELF from the group. This means that I cannot remove the page from Facebook or edit it because it now does not have an administrator. Facebook tells me that there is nothing I can do about it. If someone from Facebook is reading this please let me know how I can get my group back or at least deleted it!!
How pathetic.
It'll disappear on its own if it has no members.
Thanks, Russ. This is helpful.
I think I was a member and then removed it as I was group-purging. I can't find the group in FB anymore. Searches for “Way of Improvement Leads Home” return nothing on FB–do you have a link?
I believe I can help you with posting a RSS feed to your page, however, when and if you decide to try again.
Also, Religion Dispatches effectively uses its FB group page to spread its articles around. You might look at what they're doing:
Religion Dispatches on Facebook
Fated: You were probably part of the “Philip Vickers Fithian Fan Club,” a group that still exists. Since the blog has moved beyond the focus on the book, I thought I would start a blog page. You are right–“The Way of Improvement Leads Home” Facebook is gone, but I do want to start one up ASAP. Any help you can provide would be much appreciated. When you get a chance, drop me an e-mail jfea(at)messiah(dot)edu or else send me your e-mail. I want to do something just identical to Religious Dispatches or Religion in American History.
Thanks so much!
John
