I splurged and bought three posters from my friends at the Gilder-Lehrman Institute of American History. They arrived today. Why did I choose these specific posters: 1). I have been teaching Frederick Douglass’s Narrative for over a decade. 2). I am the grandson of Ellis Island immigrants. 3). I really like this 1968 Civil Rights placard and its celebration of human dignity.
I hope to hang a few of these in my Messiah College office. Stop by and take a closer look.
