I'm a bit skeptical about the test that the original post (where the picture is from) talks about, though. Truthfully, while some of the questions were honest “gimmes” that should cause raised eyebrows when they're missed, others were just ludicrous.
Just makes me wonder a bit about what these tests really say about what people know about history.
If you follow through the posting, there is a link to the test that they are talking about, though for the sake of it I'll pop a more direct link here:
I am the American Creation contributor who posted those test questions and I agree that many of these questions are sketchy at best (the one on Karl Marx is just downright bizarre…not sure how it applies to their test).
With that said, I also think that those “gimmie” questions do indicate how woefully ignorant most Americans are of their history. Sure, we can debate ad nauseum the test questions that were included in this test, but I doubt many people will argue the reality that most Americans know very little of their history.
Most Americans really are “morans” when it comes to knowing their past.
Oh, I'd definitely agree with you that the vast majority of Americans overstate their historical knowledge. I'm probably a member of that group, honestly. *grins*
And I hope you don't think my comments were any reflection on you or anything- I liked your post on the subject.
Love the picture!

Tim: I don't think I have seen the original post. Do you have a link?

Thanks, Tim. I should have actually read the post at American Creation before I snatched the pic!
