I submitted my grades this afternoon and I am beginning to think about my break. I hope to make a dent on the pile of books on the end table in my study. The chances are slim that I will read all of these between now and February, but it is nice to dream.
Ira Stoll, Samuel Adams: A Life
Thomas Slaughter, The Beautiful Soul of John Woolman
Vince Rougeau, Christians in the American Empire
Stanley Fish, Save the World on Your Own Time
Reinhold Niebuhr, The Irony of American History
Liam Riordan, Many Identities, One Nation
Alan Houston, Benjamin Franklin and the Politics of Improvement
Elisabeth Lasch-Quinn, Race Experts
Janet Moore Lindman, Bodies of Belief
Richard Pointer, Encounters of the Spirit
HBO’s John Adams (I have yet to see it, a student loaned me the DVD).
